Let's Talk 121

Online and Face to Face therapy
with Lorraine Ross.

Welcome to Letstalk121.

Counselling can be helpful at any stage in your life, people seek counselling for a variety of reasons, such as anxiety, anger, depression, loneliness and stress, together we can find answers to help you promote a better sense of self.
As a counsellor I work in a non-judgemental way with my clients aged 16+ and I tailor the sessions to suit each individual. All sessions are confidential between me the counsellor and you the client.
We all have different needs, issues and goals and I welcome difference and diversity with open arms.

I take particular interest in Loss and Bereavement, and am currently in the process of qualifying to be an Independent Stalking Advocacy Specialist. I am passionate about helping people identify and achieve their personal goals by coping with the issues that are causing them distress and anxiety and helping them move to the next chapter in their lives.

I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients and look forward to working with you.

I hold a Level 4 and Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP and an Accredited member of the NCPS.

If you would like a free (up to 15 minute) no-obligation conversation about how I might be able to help you, do get in touch via the message page leaving your name and contact details. We can discuss your reasons for wanting counselling and from there we will see what you would like to achieve from the sessions. Hours I work: Flexible

Individual Therapy

Working either by phone, online or face to face, we will develop a trusting, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, enabling you to open up and explore your issues in a safe space. I wont be telling you what you should or shouldn't be doing but instead work along side you at your own pace. I offer a variety of approaches and techniques such as CBT, Psychodynamics, Gestalt and Person Centred that will help you overcome personal issues and challenges, I cater to each of my client’s personal needs in order to unlock their full potential.

You may have lots of questions-send me an email or call me so I can hopefully answer them.

What issues can I bring to my sessions?

Well, that is entirely up to you.  Although I have a particular interest in Loss and Bereavement, I also work with -but not limited to- issues such as:

Addiction, Anger, Anxiety,  Bullying, Cyber Bullying, Depression, D.I.D, Guilt, Harassment, Kink, Shame, Stalking, Insomnia, Isolation, Loneliness, Negative thoughts, Relationship issues, Self-harm, Stress, Sexual issues, Trauma..

You decide on what the focus is for each session.  Together we will explore in depth, so you gain a better understanding of what is going on for you.

I'm not sure if I should have therapy?

Not sure? That's a normal way to be feeling to be honest.
Next steps is to get in touch, details found on the contacts page and I can help you answer any more questions you may have.

How many sessions do I need?

Great Question.  This depends on you, your needs and your issues that you bring.  I would say initially we would start with 6 sessions, then we can decide after that if you would like more sessions. I work short term and open ended.
Some clients will have 6 sessions whilst others like to stay in therapy for a longer period of time.

Will our sessions be confidential?

Everything we discuss will be confidential.
I work ethically and safely at all times.
If I believe that you are a serious risk to yourself  or to others then I will discuss this with you first and seek further assistance from my supervisor to get the best possible outcome.
As I adhere to the BACP ethical framework I am supervised (as should all good ethical practising counsellors) which means at times I may take certain elements from our sessions to supervision where I work on a 121 basis which supports my work with clients. At no time will I be giving personal details to anyone.
